Directions
From Cashiers: Drive south on NC 107 for 9.3 miles. Shortly after crossing the State line, turn left at the sign for Whitewater Falls. Continue 2.3 miles to the intersection with SC 130, which becomes NC 281 at the North Carolina State line. Just beyond this point is a sign for the entrance to Whitewater Falls to view Whitewater's spectacular 411-foot plunge.

The highest waterfalls east of the Rockies with a total fall of 811 feet drop with the upper falls with a 411-foot drop and the lower with a 400-foot drop that cascades down a rock face in Jocassee Gorges. The two-mile trail to the falls overlook begins at Duke Power's Bad Creek Pumped Storage Project north of Lake Jocassee.
