From Blairsville, GA take US 19/129 south for 11 miles. Turn left on Helton Creek Road just past the entrance to Vogel State Park. Go 2.2 miles to a small pullout parking area. Trailhead will be on right.

butterfly migration

Visited this place many years ago and saw thousands of butterflies migrating; however, I forgot to document the location. I searched for many years trying to find it again but had little success until this year. I have now marked it on my calendar and mapped the location. Not easy to find, but worth it during butterfly season. Definitely will return to see the butterflies again.
